![]() Often, I would lose interest in the campaigns as they began presenting less of a challenge in the mid game. ![]() However, I would often leave the remaining Spanish territories on mainland South America alone until the later game due to resource commitments in mainland North America, Europe, or the sea. In past campaigns with GB, France, or the UP I have without fail set early game priorities on owning the Pirate territories, French and Dutch Guyana, Curacao, Cuba, and, out of convenience, Hispaniola. This is particulary true in the early game, when armchair generals like myself who tend to focus on region consolidation and protecting ones' supply chains will often times not set a priority on conquering mainland South American territories until all Caribbean islands and coastal territories have first been captured. Located on a far inland edge of the map, the territory of Bogota, New Granada can often be overlooked by campaigns featuring countries hostile to Spain. However, I am writing this in an effort to enlighten others with the knowledge of the potential wealth of New Granada, which can approach that of New Spain. The potential wealth of Mexico, coupled with the strategic value of its troop recruitment capabilities as the only large city within many turns' march, makes this so. Undoubtedly, the territory of Mexico, New Spain is the crown jewel of the Caribbean region.
